What was the biggest challenge or the biggest success?
Travelodge had been in the process of building a new hotel in central Dublin and the heart of the new opening was in their new restaurant Mossco. We had the exciting task of creating the visual identity for Mossco. From finalising logo designs and producing brand guidelines to all the branded bits and bobs of a restaurant, which were reflected in the multiple menus, aprons, take-away packaging, flyer, pop-up stands and internal and external signage just to name a few.
What the client needed help with?
- Creating a cohesive brand identity that portrays a premium, yet fresh feel for a 4-star venue and is reflective of its quirky interior style
- Being relevant as a café, lunch and daytime location with an outdoor terrace and also a bar and restaurant for a night out
- Brand and marketing designs to be implemented across clothing, signage and restaurant print collateral, ads and animated banners
The solution put together and small idea of how we done it.
Wurkhouse were involved in this project from the very early days. We worked closely with the Interior Designer and the Travelodge marketing team, which was crucial to understanding the vision and plans for the restaurant - yet to be build - and the envisioned future guests.
We developed a look & feel for the brand which took inspiration from distinctive features of the restaurants interior design, as seen on fabrics, carpets, lights, seating areas or tiles and combined it with illustrations of moss plants reflective of the restaurant’s name, the street it sits on and the chef’s devotion to fresh food. After offering a variety of initial concepts, a clear route was chosen together with the Travelodge marketing team and the brand rolled out across print materials, digital designs and signage.
